All Alone

Attempts of denial…

Being Alone

Withering Alone

It’s not that bad,
To be all alone.
I have the stars, the silence and solace;
And no contacts
In my phone.

I haven’t a friend, an enemy or lover.
I like to sit quietly in the dark,
If I’m not asleep,
In my lonely bower;
That has grown
Sarcophegal over the years.

Sometimes the birds come chirping at the window.
Searching for a place to nest,
(Or a worm, maybe)
I’d like to say they come for me.
I approach them;
They fly away, leaving me:
All alone.

I never scream,
For I like my silence.
I get up, I bathe, I cook, I eat,
I quietly work and then I sleep silently.
I spend my evenings in futility:
With Mozart and Voltaire.

I walk around in my empty house,
In the night, thinking:
Maybe I’m not alone after all!

The Sacrifice

Heavy Snowfall Before I Took The Journey

Image Courtesy: Jenny Lyne on Flickr

‘Twas a snowy evening, whenst I
Was walking down the aisle.
In my eyes there were no tears,
On my face there was no smile

Me cross’d the woods, an’ dark wert ‘em;
There wert no starts to guide.
There was no fear in me mind,
In an empty heart which I could hide.

I walked on and on, ‘till the dawn:
No place e’er didst came,
Where I could stop to take a breath;
An’ me glory lost acclaim.

With the sun, came a Bluejay;
She said her name was bliss.
But I kept walking forevermore,
My duty I didst not remiss.

My country is the Holy Earth,
And I a poor man;
But I shalt serve Thee and Thy scions,
In every way I can.

Beyond Limits

Fly Till Death

I stood on the edge of the narrowed cliff,

Gazing upon what Fate hath brought me.

Discontented; to break out I intended

“Behold!”, then a voice in my head would tell me

“Know thy limits;

“An’ nay, now not thee fly!”

But I heeded naught; for that wert a sly.

Then I broke all bounds,

And flew until I kissed the ground…
